Nolwenn is the jack-of-all-trades on our team: captain, guide and artist all in one. She grew up in Bretagne, not far from the ocean, and studied agronomy in France before moving to Iceland in 2018 to study whales. During this time, she decided to dedicate her life to marine conservation, first becoming a birdwatching and whale-watching guide. She has been with us since 2023. In 2025, inspired by Gísli and Joséphine (one of our former captains), she completed captain’s training in Brittany and has worked as a captain ever since. You might spot her outside the wheelhouse, guiding passengers or painting birds and whales on postcards or the containers at our ticket office.
