18/3/2014 – Conditions inside Grundarfjörður were slightly better today than yesterday but outside the fjord was a different story so we could not venture far. Fortunately we twice came across some White-beaked Dolphins. They showed us a bit of interest to begin with but then continued their own business, which seemed to be just mucking about in between feeding on stray Capelin. Even if the Orcas here are thought to be almost exclusively fish feeders, the common presence of Dolphins when the Orcas are absent somehow unavoidably brings to mind the old saying ‘When the cat’s away, the mice will play’! There was also a large Grey Seal by Melrakkaey Island. Guide Baldur
