Iceland in December
Iceland in December is magical. Many travellers visit the country to watch Northern Lights and enjoy the sparkling Christmas lights. But while most travelers stay in Reykjavik, we experience Snaefellsnes in a very calm and slow way. So leave the growd in Reykjavik and experience Iceland in an authentic way. Snaefellsnes does not onlz offer many impressive natural sights but you also have the chance to join our unique winter whale watching tour from Grundarfjordur. Whale Watching Iceland December 22, 2018
Our winter whale watching tour today took place in an extraordinarily calm sea and gave us sightings of two species we have not had so far this winter – the harbor porpoise and the humpback whale! We first spotted the humpback whale while it was feeding and going for long dives with an arched back. As the sea was so calm, we could then see a small group of harbor porpoises surface a few times not too far from the boat.
Come to Snaefellsnes for Winter Whale Watching in Iceland
So if you want to experience Iceland whale watching in December we highly recommend coming to Snaefellsnes and spending at least 2 days in the area. There is so much to explore and in case the weather does not cooperate and we would have to cancel a tour you still can come with us on the next day. Check if our cozy guesthouse Grundarfjordur Bed and Breakfast still has availability for your travel dates.
